More

Turning to Duff is a nested accordion featuring original, hand-written text and oil paintings on surface prepared paper. The Luconose covers have a removable magnetic spine that allows the book to be fully extended as an accordion, or viewed as a codex. Housed in a custom drop-spine box that also houses treated forest specimens behind cast acrylic The text and paintings provide a description and reflection on the processes of forest ecosystems that mediate between the living, aboveground portion of the forest and the mineral soil.
Ahead, canted over the trail, a dead tree/held aloft in the branches of another/shedding itself to the forest floor/rocking & rustling in the wind. Turning to duff while reaching towards sun & sky, mooon & stars.
