Why the Tree Loves the Ax

Mixed media hinged construction opens to reveal scroll book with text from "Skin Game: A Cutter's Memoir" by Caroline Kettlewell. The scroll is hand painted, the inside of the container housing the scroll is lined with satin. The structure’s roof is lined with mica, a razor blade is affixed to one of the ‘gable ends’. Hand painted text also appears on the outside of the box, which has an encaustic finish.
