This box is part of the Lovely and Amazing series. This wall hung box presents one of Ruth’s specimens, a Rocky Mtn Creepr, mounted on a stick alongside a text describing the discovery of a nest of Creeper eggs in Gilpin County, Colorado. The text is printed on transparent film and then held in glass tubes that also hold various bird feathers. Thus the text visually floats in front of a field of colorful feathers.
Text includes Nesting Notes on the Rocky Mountain Creeper, 1918 by W. C. Bradley, originally published in The Condor, Volume 21 and scans from the 1951 ediion of Aretas A. Saunders A Guide to Bird Songs.
